We are connected,
My child and I, by
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye.
It’s not like the cord
That connects us ’til birth
This cord can’t been seen
By any on Earth.
This cord does it’s work
Right from the start.
It binds us together
Attached to my heart.
I know that it’s there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me.
The strength of this cord
Is hard to describe.
It can’t be destroyed
It can’t be denied.
It’s stronger than any cord
Man could create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight.
And though you are gone,
Though you’re not here with me,
The cord is still there
But no one can see.
It pulls at my heart
I am bruised…I am sore,
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before.
I am thankful that God
Connects us this way
A mother and child
Death can’t take it away!
Carla Jannotti, 12 years old, loving daughter and sister, Carla was a “champion” in every sense of the word. She was an amazing athlete and bright student, who dreamed of one day being a Gator gymnast. Her strength, courage and perseverance were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a hero to many including her family. After losing the ability even to move she fought back through painful treatments and rehab to regain the use of her limbs and voice, eventually returning to school at Forest Lake Elementary in Deltona. Through it all she kept her smile and charismatic laugh. Carla made so many wonderful and lasting friendships with so many people during this journey. Carla has had messages from well wishers from around the country. Some people have related their stories of how Carla had inspired them, and some said their lives were saved through early screening for cancer because of her story. Carla passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She had been battling brain cancer, and associated complications, for more than two years. The memories she left with us all can never be replaced and will never be lost. She will be with us always. Memorial service will be held at the Church of Annunciation, 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, 4 p.m., on Friday, March 18. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Carla Jannotti’s Trust account at Wachovia Bank at any location. A donation will be made by the family to GIVE KIDS THE WORLD on her behalf.
We talked to all her doctors yesterday and the news was not good. The combination of everything that she has been through these last four weeks has taken a toll of her body. We pray for a miracle but we prepare ourselves for her journey to heaven.
Thank you very much to everyone that came to the hospital yesterday to say goodbye to Carla. Please check with the hospital for visiting times for our family needs to have quiet and private time with her. We prefer between the hours 1 – 8 PM.
Lord, you said, “Ask, and you shall receive. Seek, and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened to you.” And so I bring my petition to heal Carla, to your most Sacred Heart. I ask that You bless her and heal her in body, mind and soul according to Your will.
I ask You to be moved by this petition as You were moved by the tears of Martha and Mary for their beloved brother Lazarus; as You were moved by Your Mother’s request at the marriage ceremony at Cana; and as You were moved by the faith of the Samaritan women who believed she would be healed by touching the tassel of your cloak.
I thank you for the many times you have interceded in the past, especially on behalf of Carla.
Please have mercy on her and restore her.
Carla has been in the hospital for the last week after they found out that her shunt was malfunctioning. She did very well after her surgery and was getting ready to go home on Saturday morning when she became very ill. After running many test, they discovered that she had contracted the flu as well as a blood infection. She has now been in the hospital for a week and is slowly recovering.
Keep her in your prayers and continue donating blood, platelets and plasma at your nearest blood bank.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that came out to celebrate with Carla and her family. Our deepest gratitude goes out to all of the volunteers and the bands. Special thanks to Aunt Anna, Uncle Angelo and Uncle Carlo.
We really enjoyed having HR2 and all of their employees who joined Phill and his family at the concert.
